Walnut Delight

Perched amidst walnut leaves, a dainty dormouse rests within the confines of a hollowed walnut shell, its cosy haven after a nibble-filled journey. With a belly contentedly filled with the delights of walnuts, the dormouse peers onto the enchanted whimsy of the walnut tree.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Dormouse, walnut and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
