Tiny Explorer

A brave wood mouse has embarked on a vertical journey, ascending a hawthorn plant to reach an old faucet which has aged in this abandoned garden. With keen curiosity, the mouse balances on the verge of discovery, its tiny head poised upward as it anticipates the descent of a single droplet from the faucet.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Wood mouse, hawthorn and faucet were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
