Precious Moment

Among the tender blush of newly blooming apple blossoms, a worried fledgling flutters its wings, beak parted waiting for company. With the softest care, the adult blue tit offers a green caterpillar, a gift of nourishment and reassurance, as petals drift like whispers around their quiet moment of devotion.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Blue Tits, leaves, and apple blossom were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
