Taking A Peek

A curious wood mouse pokes its head through the base of a terracotta pot perched on a weathered cane, its whiskers twitching as it peers up at the towering tomato plants above. The mouse seems to have discovered a secret world in the tangle of green vines and ripening fruit.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the mouse, pot and cane were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
