Oak Tree Ballad
A red-breasted robin perches gracefully on the outstretched bough of an ancient oak tree, its scarlet plumage as vibrant in colour as the golden autumn leaves. The tree's branches are adorned with clusters of unformed acorns, promising the promise of renewal and life in the coming seasons.
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Robin, acorns and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
