Great Tit Quartet

Among the delicate white blooms, four fledgling Great Tits perch in a tangle of youthful emotions—one fluffed up in sulky silence, another calling out with quiet patience. One stretches tall, its tiny beak open in urgent demand, while the last sings with a gentle, loving note, their voices rising and falling like a melody carried on the warm breath of spring. 
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Great Tits, flowers, and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
