Fleeting Perch

On a misty morning in the tranquil embrace of an estuary, a graceful Little Egret embarked on an extraordinary dance. With one leg poised delicately, it balanced atop a swaying rope, pulled gently by the ebbing tide. As the mist hung low, cloaking the world in a soft, ethereal veil, the egret's feathers glowed with an otherworldly radiance. With each subtle shift in the tide's rhythm, it adjusted its stance with an air of poise and determination.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Egret, rope and seaweed heads were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
