Crimson Feast

A Robin perches proudly amidst the glossy holly leaves, its crimson breast glowing like a jewel against the winter foliage. With a plump holly berry clasped delicately in its beak, it seems to savour the season’s abundance, a fleeting moment of joy in the stillness of the cold.
 
Several techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Robin, holly leaves, berries and branch were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, and textile techniques.
