Caught In The Act

The branches of the Hawthorn tree hang heavy with their bright red fruits dangling down like jewels. Catching the light, they attract the attention of a ravenous hare. As she starts to pick a berry from its branch, she notices she has an audience and has been caught in the act.
 
A number of techniques and mediums were used in the creation of this piece. The background is fabric painted and the Hare, berries and leaves were achieved through quilting, applique, embroidery, textile techniques.
